Living in Las Vegas
Our Wedding

Jason and Renee: the beginning

One of my first days at my new high school, I saw Jason in the library and thought, "wow, he's kind of cute." I had seen him around town before, but not up close. I figured that would be the end of it and I wouldn't really see him again. We ended up having classes together and then he started hanging out with my inner circle. Later, I was told it was because of me, but I am not sure I believe that ;-)

Important Firsts
Here is a reality check for me - we live in a busy world, and it is often difficult to get it exactly right. I have found that putting down months instead of exact dates keeps me sane. I tried, and failed miserably to write down dates AND times. That lasted about a minute, until I realized that I was so busy documenting, that I wasn't taking time to remember the moment. So, now I write things down in a notebook and take pictures. Then, I can sit down when things get quiet (only about once a month), and put everything in Kai's baby book.
So here a couple of my favorite firsts for our handsome son, Kai:
First time holding a pacifier on his own -----> 1 day old (and I have pictures to prove it!)
Real Smile -----> 2 1/2 weeks old
Held a bottle on his own -----> 2 months old
Babbling -----> 3 months old
Slept through the night -----> 4 months old
Rolled onto tummy -----> 5 months old
Real Laugh -----> 6 months old
Crawled -----> 7 months old
First word 'DADA' -----> 8 months old
Every day is a first for us, because Kai is one day older and one year wiser.... He is so smart and mischievous. It really keeps us on our toes, and we love every minute of it! Especially Jason, since he is exactly the same... Love you babe! :-)

Why we love family:
No matter what, family will shelter you and love you. They will scold you when you make mistakes and hug you when you realize you have. Through thick and thin, there have been a handful of people who were there for us when times were rough and we will be eternally grateful. We have been burned by those we thought were our friends, and cut off with no explanation. Now, after many tears and questions, we can accept their decision and realize that we still have one another and our true friends and loving family. We know that God put us here for a purpose and we are trying to figure out what those reasons are, but making sure that we enjoy the ride that is life. So, to those we love, thank you for always being there. To those who have moved out of our lives, we send our love and support and hope that one day all will be well.
